Best Coffee Shops In Indianapolis

18.10.23 | Marissa & Josh | No Comments

When it comes to researching what to do in a particular city, finding cozy and aesthetically pleasing coffee shops is one of my top priorities. I mean, we would not make it through the rest of our day exploring a city without our morning dose of caffeine. Now, when it comes to Indianapolis, Josh and I lived here for about 2 years (2019-2021) and have recently moved back, so we have had plenty of time to research and test out many of the city’s best coffee shops. This list is by no means complete (we are constantly exploring and finding new places), but we believe that if you love coffee, you should not miss out on these particularly incredible cafes while visiting Indianapolis, Indiana.

Central Indianapolis

Bovaconti Coffee – Fountain Square

Located in the popular Fountain Square neighborhood of Indianapolis, this coffee shop is famous for its Spanish latte. And let me tell you, it will not disappoint! Neither will the fun, pink and green design throughout the inside. Another bonus? Your pup is allowed inside and will most likely be offered a “pup”-uccino of their own.

Amelia’s

Amelia’s has several locations around Indianapolis, but if I have to choose my favorite, it’s their Windsor Park location. Set in an adorable white house with both front and back patios perfect for sipping on your latte and nibbling on your delicious croissant. And if you’d rather, take your coffee to go and wander around the neighborhood and look at all the cute houses. Another fantastic location is in the Stutz Building on the NW corner of downtown Indy. If you visit this location, be sure to wander around and look at the art in the building and stop in Grounded Plant and Floral Company.

Provider

Located in the historic Tinker House, Provider creates beautiful and unique coffees and long drinks. One of their most popular and unique coffees is their pistachio latte. It might sound crazy, but it might just be one of our favorite coffees in Indianapolis and is truly a must-try while visiting the area. And if it’s a nice day, take your coffee out to their adorable dog-friendly patio.

Kaffeine Coffee

Ready to find an exotic coffee from the other side of the world? Well that’s what you will do when you visit Kaffeine Coffee, one of our favorite coffee shops in Indianapolis. They boast 96 different forms of coffee beans and teas sourced from across the world and their large menu reflects that. Josh prefers the pour over coffees while I tend to get the Vietnamese coffee on the regular. The interior is decorated in a “worldly” theme and is cozy. Perfect for a warm cup of coffee on a cold day.

North Indy (Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, Fishers)

Bovaconti – Carmel

This Bovaconti location opened in early 2025 and is just as beautifully designed as the original location in Fountain Square. It is located on Main Street in Carmel and has plenty of seating both inside and outside on its large patio. The decor is vibey with earthy colors and plenty of textures. It’s the perfect spot to hideaway with a delicious coffee and a pastry (try the pistachio croissant, you will not be disappointed.

Schoolhouse 7 Cafe

Schoolhouse 7 Cafe has quickly become one of our absolute favorite coffee shops! It’s located on the far east side of Fishers in an old one-room schoolhouse that welcomed it’s first class of students in 1900. Much of the building has been preserved in the making of this unique coffeeshop. It has plenty of seating with cozy armchairs by a fire on the first floor, upstairs meeting spaces, and even a two-level deck outside. The coffee is delicious and they have a decent menu of food as well.

Yafa Golden Coffee

Yafa Golden Coffee is another unique spot that we love to visit. They import their coffee beans from the Yafa region of Yemen and create coffee that honors Yemeni heritage. Their menu is large with tons of coffee options as well as pastries, smoothies, juices, and teas. Everything that we have tried has been fantastic so far and we are excited to keep returning to try more of their menu.

Prufrock

Prufrock is another new spot in Carmel. This coffee shop is located near Midtown, which makes it a fantastic spot to grab a coffee to go and take a walk along the Monon or just sit at one of the many benches or swings in the area and people-watch. Prufrock has great drinks and a unique way of sending their iced drinks to go; they can them! Another must try is their ice cream croissant sandwhiches.

Noble Coffee

Noble Coffee and Tea is a great coffee shop in downtown Noblesville. Their coffee is delicious and they have an extensive menu. The inside is large with plenty of seating and views of the courthouse. It is also perfectly located to grab a drink to go and wander around the shops of Noblesville.

A holiday date night in Carmel, Indiana We love l A holiday date night in Carmel, Indiana

We love living on the north side of Indianapolis because there are so many amazing restaurants and fun events, especially during the holidays!

Here are two of our favorite ways to get into the holiday spirit in Carmel that can easily be combined into one festive date night.

Carmel Christkindlmarkt - voted the Best Holiday Market by USA Today 4 times and is in the running to win again this year! It’s the perfect spot to wander around the many vendors looking at the incredible handcrafted goods and deciding what to eat (between the waffles, wurst, glüwein, kebabs, etc it’s so hard to choose!). It’s definitely an experience worth traveling for and it’s only gotten bigger and better since we last visited 6 years ago.

3UP Rooftop - @3uprooftoplounge is in their Winter Wonderland era and you need to experience it for yourself! The entire place is decked out, even the outdoor patio which is somehow perfectly heated despite being completely open. It’s the perfect spot to end the night with a festive cocktail and some delicious food by the fire.

Who are you bringing with you on a cozy getaway to Who are you bringing with you on a cozy getaway to The Townie Cottages in Union Pier, Michigan? | hosted stay

The @thetowniecottages was the perfect fall getaway for our family. Not only did we get to enjoy all the incredible amenities of the property (like the hot tub and fully stocked kitchen) but we loved how close it was to all the amazing things SW Michigan has to offer, like farm-to-table restaurants, wineries, and adorable beach towns.
